Open Positions

We are committed to providing an inclusive environment and welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience.

Postdoc positions

The postdoc positions are currently available in Wen-Hao Zhang’s lab of computational neuroscience at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Successful candidates are expected to play an active and independent role in one of our research directions. Our group is particularly interested in neural circuit mechanisms of normative computations such as probabilistic inference and learning. The theories and models developed along this line will be used to explain neuroscience experiments, e.g., (multisensory) cue integration, causal inference, decision making, etc., as well as develop next-generation brain-inspired machine learning algorithms.

Candidates with a Ph.D. in (computational) neuroscience or quantitative fields like computer science, biomedical engineering, physics, statistics, mathematics, etc. are strongly encouraged to apply. Please send me an email of your CV and a statement of research interests, and the names and contact information for three references.

Graduate students

We are seeking motivated and talented students who have an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in computational neuroscience, so as to understand the neural circuit mechanism of perception, cognition, and behaviors. For those who have an interest in joining our lab as a graduate student, you can apply through the Neuroscience program at UT Southwestern, as well as Computational Biology track. Also, for first-year graduate students, if you are interested in rotation in our group, please contact Wen-Hao Zhang directly.

Undergraduate students

We also welcome enthusiastic undergraduate students to join our lab. We are happy to train undergraduates in computational neuroscience and machine learning.
